ISoP Board Member
Mónica Tarapués graduated in medicine (MD) in Ecuador and achieved a Master and a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Pharmacology in Spain. Her major research field is Pharmacovigilance, focus on the right use of medicines in clinical practice. Mónica has worked in multidisciplinary groups in order to identify post-marketing drug safety signals.
She also has experience in the management of databases, causality assessment of adverse drug reactions, as well as, critical appraisal of medical literature and evidence-based medicine. She has done internships at the Regional Centre of Pharmacovigilance in Catalonia-Spain and in the Research Team at Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) in Sweden. Currently, Mónica works in Quito-Ecuador as a lecturer at Universidad Central del Ecuador, and as a Consultant and Member of the UMC Signal Review Panel.

- Waiving of the registration fee for the Annual Meeting
- Accommodation, living expenses and in circumstances where alternative reimbursement is not available economy return airfare for attendance at the EC meeting held each year approximately six months after the Annual Meeting
