North America (NASoP) Am2P
Am2P: The ISoP North America Chapter (NASoP) launches Pharmacovigilance courses targeting North America medicines-stakeholders with Eu2P academic accreditation.

American Program in Pharmacovigilance

Am2P provides an access to knowledge and understanding of the concepts and principles in Pharmacovigilance (PV) with a focus on North America and enables an outreach to online education in PV according to the mission of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP) which aims to foster pharmacovigilance both scientifically and educationally, and enhance all aspects of the safe and proper use of medicines, in all countries.
The Am2P program offers 2 academic options, the Certificate degree and the Short Course Certificate of Achievement in Pharmacovigilance.
Four modular programs are offered on a website platform and provide PV educational training on:
- Basic Pharmacovigilance (PV) & PV regulations
- PV for Biologics
- External databases/RWD/RWE
- Benefit Risk assessment
These courses have been developed in collaboration with Eu2P instructors and benefit from existing course materials, education technology, and academic accreditation background.
The Am2P program is designed by the NASoP chapter to fit the North American pharmacovigilance education needs. The program also follows the WHO-ISoP Core Elements of a Comprehensive Modular Curriculum and subscribes to the IMI Education and Training quality standards, jointly developed by Eu2P and other IMI Education and Training projects to foster quality in lifelong learning and continuing professional development.
The Am2P program approval is ensured by the Eu2P Executive Board including academic representatives of the 6 Eu2P degree-awarding universities.
The program monitoring and periodic reviews are conducted by the NASoP group and the University of Bordeaux under the supervision of the Eu2P Executive Board.
Program accreditation?
The Am2P Certificate degree is based on training course provided by experts from the NASoP chapter. This is a postgraduate degree of 3 ECTS credits, equivalent to 1,5 American credits jointly awarded by the Academic Partners having signed the Eu2P Certificate agreement and recognized by all Eu2P Course Providers and Associated Partners. It is printed and issued by the Université de Bordeaux, includes the logos of Am2P Academic Partners and is signed by the chair of the Eu2P Examination Board.
The Am2P Short Course Certificate of Achievement is based on training course provided by experts from the NASoP chapter. This is a qualification called “Certificate of Achievement in North America Pharmacovigilance” jointly awarded by the Academic Partners having signed the Eu2P Short Courses agreement and recognized by all Eu2P Course Providers and Associated Partners. It is printed and issued by the Université de Bordeaux, includes the logos of Am2P Academic Partners and is signed by the chair of the Eu2P Examination Board.
