Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacovigilance
The ISoP Special Interest Group (SIG) on Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacovigilance, led by Mohammed Fouda, Head of the Signal Detection Section at the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, aims to revolutionize drug safety monitoring by promoting cutting-edge AI technologies. Our goal is to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and predictive capabilities in adverse event reporting, thereby fostering a safer future for public health. By addressing challenges such as data quality, regulatory compliance, and ethical AI models, the SIG strives to be a global leader in transforming pharmacovigilance practices.
The SIG was officially launched during the ISoP General Assembly in October 2024 in Montreal.
Objectives
- Promote AI Integration: Encourage the adoption of AI technologies within pharmacovigilance to improve drug safety and efficacy.
- Drive Innovation: Facilitate the development and application of machine learning and natural language processing in adverse event reporting.
- Enhance Collaboration: Build a community of professionals to share knowledge, best practices, and research on AI-driven pharmacovigilance.
