The University of Hertfordshire is a public university that is largely based in Hatfield in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. The School of Life and Medical Sciences has international recognition as an established provider of Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety education with academic accreditation, focusing on European Union and United Kingdom Pharmacovigilance Regulations and Guidelines, yet providing a rounded global context.
On the de Havilland Campus all facilities used for conferencing are located a short distance between each other; bedrooms, dining space and seminar rooms.

There are fast and frequent trains from London Kings Cross to Hatfield train station, directions can be found using the National Rail Journey Planner.

Hatfield
Hatfield station is just 25 minutes by train from London’s King’s Cross station and within easy access of the A1(M) if travelling by car. It is close to several airports including London Luton (10 miles from central Hatfield), London Stansted (21 miles from central Hatfield), London Heathrow (22 miles from central Hatfield) and London Gatwick (43 miles from central) making it very accessible for international travel and short taxi transfers. The two campus sites, College Lane and de Havilland (meeting venue), are situated less than a kilometre apart.
Also, the historical city of St Albans is a short distance away (10 kms) with quaint streets, historic buildings, outstanding landmarks, award-winning restaurants, incredible shops and stunning parkland.
Visas
You will either need to apply for a visa in advance, or secure an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) (including citizens from the EU, EEA, and Switzerland) to enter the UK.
Please contact your Embassy in advance and check the requirement and deadline to obtain a visa to come to the United Kingdom.
Accommodation
On-site university accommodation
On-campus student accommodation, which requires only a short walk to the venue has a range of modern 1 bed studio (see Figure 1 below).
We offer accommodation in single, ensuite bedrooms, each room has a small fridge in it, towels and bedding are provided. Key collection is from the Accommodation office (located behind the Restaurant), 0800 – 1800 Monday to Friday, outside of these hours keys should be collected from the de Havilland LRC, located next to Main reception. Before the 22nd of May, delegates wishing to book should email beds@herts.ac.uk quoting “ISoP Mid-Year symposium 2026”, a confirmation invoice will be sent to individuals and payment will be required in advance (cut off date of 22nd May 2026).
